Law of Attraction: Writing your list to Santa again

Yes, it can be Christmas in July! The power of asking in the Law of Attraction

When we are kids, there comes a time when Santa Claus stops existing. That is when we stop believing in him because we are told so by family, friends and relatives who think it is time and we are grown up enough to face that important fact of life.

Do you remember when it happened to you? Some know what they were exactly doing when Kennedy was shot or when they heard the devastating news of Lady Di’s accident. Just as much, I know exactly what I was doing when I was told that the jolly nice old man was a joke; that it was my parents who were buying the gifts.

I didn’t cry because I wanted to look as if I was grown up enough to take the blow but I wasn’t. A six year old little girl felt like the whole world had crumbled down. Suddenly, Sorrow the Witch took the place of Christmas Joy.

I didn’t even care anymore about the gifts; they had lost their magic. The idea that my parents had some real cool powers to get Santa on the phone when I was not around and read my list of wishes to him had melted in front of the stupefying truth that they had lied to me. Enchantment was gone.

Making a list for Santa meant that he mystically coexisted with us, that we could wish and someone out there was so kind and generous that, not only he would remember our names but bring us exactly what we wished for. The following year, I gave the list to my parents but told them they could just give me money and I would buy the presents myself. Christmas had become commercial.

I never even quite understood why we tell the story of Santa Claus. If Santa Claus doesn’t exist, why lie to kids when they are at the most innocent and vulnerable age, why break that first trust. If Santa still exists, why lie and destroy our faith. What a cruel thing to do. Probably, nowadays, Santa has an even shorter expiry date. He could have an incredible list of followers on Twitter though. With the Internet at baby’s reach, Santa might not ever come to existence long enough to inspire radiant glow in the eyes of the mesmerized children preparing milk and cookies for the amazing Saint Nicholas.

The gifts were appearing and even when they were not, we still had a strong belief in the existence of a greater person that went throughout the world faster than time and gave gifts. That great man with his long white beard and bright eyes taught us about giving, goodness, speed unconditioned by time or space and faith. Out of the blue, the most trusted people in our lives made the man disappear and leave us with a feeling of loss. Santa was dad or uncle in disguise? It didn’t make sense. By humanizing Santa, we killed him. Where would the wishes go and the letters? We stopped writing to Santa; some of us even stopped wishing all together.

I am bringing Santa up not only because I truly like and respect the guy. I am also sharing this story because I am sure he is somewhat related to God and to Heroes. We killed our Heroes, we dismantled Santa and God lost His allies and some of His powers; that is the God within us. I started believing in Santa again and when you to write down what you want out of life, you start making Santa’s list once more. It gives you back the powers of God in you. Spirituality reinforced, you witness magic once again as your wishes start coming true. Angels as would Santa’s elves send you messages to guide you towards the shortest possible path to reach your goals. Santa is alive. We just decide not to believe in him anymore. He just wears different outfits depending on the name we give him. Write to Santa and believe he will bring you gifts; forget about the manner in which he will fly to you. Just let go and you will relive magic again.
